Social Media Report, Groupon and Reviews, and Update on Platform

First up we cover the new social media report for Q3 from Nielsen. There are a few things we can learn from it but hopefully it shouldn’t be much if your a regular listener to the show. Here’s a excerpt from a blog post I did on it over at our website:

Facebook rules them all. American’s spend more time on Facebook than any other site. Even with competition from Google+ I see this trend continuing.  Continue here.

Next up we talk about a study that tries to figure out what happens when a company does a GroupOn. Here is the most interesting part:

They examine this effect in more detail by pinpointing reviews that specifically mention the words “Groupon” and “coupon”. “Reviews mentioning either keyword are associated with star ratings that are 10% lower on average than reviews that do not, while the very small fraction of reviews mentioning both keywords are more than 20% lower on average,” they say.

Update on Our Platform

I also share an update on our platform. Specifically we talk about our bounce rate, time on site, and average actions. I also share how the goal of creating prospects and leads is going with some numbers. I’ll continue to update you here and there on our status and what we are learning as we continue our phased roll out.
